4 Great Shows to Binge Watch This January

With temperatures staying low and the pandemic still in full swing, you probably find yourself hanging out in front of the television a lot these days, choosing to spend more time with your favorite streaming platforms than local entertainment destinations. But, in doing so, you might realize that you’ve already watched all of your favorite Netflix shows, and now need something new (or old) to watch. Look no further! We’ve compiled a list of 4 great new and not-so-new series to binge-watch this January.

Bridgerton (2020)

Even if you haven’t seen it yet, there’s a good chance that you’ve at least heard of Bridgerton, the early 19th-century drama similar to titles like Gossip Girl and Pride & Prejudice. Produced by Shonda Rhimes’ company, which is also known for hits like Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal, Bridgerton follows elite Londoners as they seek out love and marriage – but, of course, there’s plenty of turmoil along the way.

Outlander (2014)

Speaking of historical dramas, Outlander is another gem now available on Netflix. Outlander focuses on a 20th-century Englishwoman who is transported to 1700s Scotland and must find a way to survive her new, dangerous surroundings. Unlike Bridgerton, which reimagines a lot of interactions, Outlander is very historically accurate and will appeal to anyone who has a knack for history.

Jeopardy (1984)

You’re very likely already familiar with Jeopardy, the longest-running game show on TV, but it’s worth a second watch in 2021. Why? Because it’s arguably the most interactive series on the Netflix platform, as it encourages you to get involved with the game and guess your own answers. Plus, its relatively recent arrival to Netflix makes it bingeable for the first time ever – you won’t be disappointed!

Sherlock (2010)

Yes, Sherlock is 11 years old, but it’s still the perfect Netflix series to binge-watch if you’re interested in Sherlock Holmes tales for the new era. Known for its mysterious, dark intrigue and dry sense of humor, Sherlock has legions of die-hard fans – and it’s easy to see why. The British series is set in London and follows the titular character as he investigates mysteries around town.
